Lenox Park Bridal Mini Session | Atlanta, GA
When my friend (and go-to makeup artist on photo shoots), Diane, told me about a friend of hers that didn't get any portraits of her beautiful long veil on her wedding day, I was beyond happy to be considered to take the photos for her. After all, I was a cathedral veil bride too, so I definitely understood why this was so important to her.
Laura was married in England (HOW COOL IS THAT?!), and absolutely adored her wedding photos, but there just wasn't a right time or place to take a few formal portraits of her in her wedding dress with her wonderfully long cathedral veil. It was important to Laura to document this favorite detail of hers, so we headed out to Lennox Park in Atlanta to photograph it.
I think Laura would have been happy with just a photo of the back of her dress and veil, but she was such a wonderfully warm and beautiful bride, and I couldn't resist marching her about the park to catch the pockets of light the gloomy clouds were slowly revealing.
Sometimes a wedding day timeline doesn't include everything you THINK you'll want to do. That's why bridal mini sessions are so great. Sometimes, brides get married in different states or countries from where they actually reside, and after the wedding, they realize there's something they wanted, but their photographer is miles away.
Booking a mini session like this after the wedding helped Laura preserve the memory of the details she loved most about her dress, and it didn't involve hours of shooting, or an over abundance of locations and props -- just 30-45 minutes of her time, and a makeup artist to help recreate her wedding-day look.
Thanks so much to Diane Homer of Diane's Wedding Belles for providing makeup!
