A Bostonian Engagement

When Nissa and Brad asked if I'd shoot their engagement session if they flew me out to  Boston, how. could. I. Say. No?!  These two cuties were high school sweethearts and survived long distance dating in college. Matt and I have an instant bond with them over that. Going to different schools and trying to maintain a relationship is one of the most difficult things we've ever done, and well, we're number one fans of couples who choose to stick it out, and fight for the love of their lives.

This engagement session is all about Nissa and Brad, and the city they love so much. Matt and I had a blast hanging out with them all weekend long. We danced to jazz, made waffles in their tiny kitchen, toured the Public Library and explored Little Italy. Food trucks and JP Licks, the best fried rice in the ENTIRE world, public gardens, weeping willows, and public transportation that made me feel like I was on the Knight Bus (and that's a good thing). It was a whirlwind of a weekend, and it was beautiful.

Although we did a lot of city exploration, there was just something about Nissa and Brad's home life that really needed to be documented. Cooking and music is such a huge part of their everyday lives. When they lived in Virginia, Nissa was an apprentice baker and sold goods at the local Farmers Market. Brad has been playing trombone since high school and currently plays in a local reggae band.

Maybe that's another reason why Matt and I love them so much. There's a delicate fusion of science and art at the core of this couple that we're absolutely in love with.

So, we wanted to share that with you all, because it's also a staple in our lives, and in an amazing wonderful way, Nissa and Brad are not only showing you the way they live, but you get to see a tiny glimpse of us through them as well.

So here's the second day of their weekend engagement session complete with a nod to Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward, one of Nissa and Brad's absolute favorite hollywood couples.
