Hello, Portrait: Raven Shutley

When Raven asked if I would take her portraits, I was beyond flattered. She's a photographer as well and owns YouAreRaven.com. Her work is absolutely beautiful and I've been so fortunate to shoot along side her for the last couple of months.

As a business owner, it's so important to have great pictures of yourself. It not only shows that you care about you, but that you care about how you come across to your clients. For Raven, she wanted to reflect her personality, that she loves to have fun, that she loves beauty and nature and light -- key elements that are always represented in her work.

And what if you don't own a business? Well, having portraits of just you (yes, JUST YOU), for no special reason at all, can be so therapeutic. Sometimes, we treat ourselves to new shoes, or a new hairstyle, but why not new photos?

So take this little piece of advice. Schedule a photo session for yourself. Maybe your birthday is coming up, or mom reeeeally wants a new photo of you, or you just got a raise at work. Maybe you've had a really bad day, week, month, or year and you want to feel good about yourself again. Any reason is a good reason, and I would love to be a part of that.
