Cup of Creative - A Blog Link Up for Aspiring Creative Professionals

Are you struggling to find work as a creative professional? I've been there. In fact, I'm still there.

Last year, I blogged about my struggle to find a job in my field as a creative professional

This didn't happen overnight. It took me 5 years after graduating from college to feel like I got somewhere I wanted to be, but I still desire to be more and create more.

However, I've picked up a few tricks along the way to get me closer to my goals, and one of those tricks was by meeting other creatives in the same boat as me.

Having a community of creatives who won't compete with you, and will support and uplift you, is necessary to survival. We're delicate and sensitive beings when it comes to our passion, and you need a safe environment in which you can share your struggles, your accomplishments, and your dreams without being told you're wasting your time.

There's no such thing as wasting time when you're pursuing something you're passionate about, even if the world tells you that you've failed. Your failures are your education.

I've gone through seasons where I've been in a creative community void. I'm an introvert at heart and I've always struggled with putting myself out there and the word "networking" is like nails on a chalkboard to me.

I know I'm not the only person like this. I know people are craving to hear similar experiences from other creatives.

So over the next few months, Jenna and I will be interviewing creatives in many different stages of their creative pursuits over a cup of coffee in the Atlanta area, asking them the questions we all face daily, the questions that leave us feeling isolated, alone, and defeated.

Our goal for this project is to help us feel connected, loved, and supported. We want this project to spark dialog and inspiration throughout our blogging community for those of us who don't know how to quite get started.

// How You Can Participate

Every month, Jenna and I will interview two different people (or each other) featuring one similar question. If you'd like to blog along with our series, we'd love for you to link up with us on the second Wednesday of every month with a blog post answering the given prompts:

March: What was the spark that initiated your pursuit of this creative endeavor?
April:  As a creative professional, what have been your biggest challenges getting started so far?

Feel free to use the following blog button for your post and share your creative endeavors with us on social media: #cupofcreative
